   | When people "see" that is because of co-operation between light sensitive elements in our eyes, which send information to our brain, which "bakes" pictures. When digital devices capture images something similar happens. What is to be seen in reality is filtered by lenses, the resolution of the light sensitive elements of the camera, and the software that processes the information.
Software to upgrade moving images already exists, and with this website The Prize Consultancy provides an easy solution for this difficult and complicated procedure to everybody. It feels like magic, and it IS, although there are still limitations in the technology. On the "Magic" page you can read more about our abilities in the near future.
Digital photo cameras are small, and you can take them with you in your purse or pocket. Snapshot a photo. A quick filmclip. Indeed precious moments are captured, that you want to enjoy again and again. But how grainy and small these films are. Enlarging with regular technology is not an option: the grains get enlarged. imáGROW makes almost DVD quality of what your photo camera captured.
Mobile phones also often have these filming abilities. Let imáGROW enlarge your films to fullscreen, with practically "impossible" detailing.
You can download a sample clip here. The original was filmed with a 4 megapixel Olympus C-460 Zoom camera, that costed less than 200 US dollars a couple of years ago. Originally it was a 320x240 pixel 15 frames per second MOV file, now a DVD-compatible PAL 720x560 pixel 25 frames per second MPG-2 movie clip. Het sample clip is approximately 50 megabytes.
On this website you can find an animation about the process. Please note that the current algorithm is not good at converting movie clips with small details. A small bird in the air will probably disappear, but show a beautiful sky. A football, basketball, volleyball, will probably disappear. Drops from a garden hose may transform into an electrifying effect, which may be beautiful nonetheless. imáGROW is a research project to develop a better algorithm, and the "imáGROW Digital Camera movie clip conversion" service is there just to let you benefit from the current state of the art. Also note that if you have a shaky, low-contrast, high action movie clip, the conversion will deliver a shaky, low-contrast, high action result. If you have several clips and you are uncertain if you like the end result, have one converted, and then decide if you want the others converted too.

Part of the profits of imáGROW go to the project EerlijkWonen.nl, "fair living". In the Netherlands most people who rent a house can not afford that without subvention from the government. An unnecessary situation. It is the ambition of EerlijkWonen.nl to build a number of rental appartments and rent them out commercially for 200 Euro per month. That is affordable for everybody, without the need of subventions.
